What a battery does

• Backup power. Keeps essentials like the fridge, lights, internet and medical devices running during an outage.
• Use your own power at night. Store daytime solar and use it in the evening, when many utilities charge the most.
• Earn from grid programs. In some areas, utilities pay battery owners for helping the grid during peak demand.

Do I need one?

It depends on your utility's rules and how much outages matter to you. In some markets a battery makes the numbers work much better. In others, solar alone does the job. Your report shows both.
